Northumberland to Unveil Major investment Opportunity at UKREiiF 2026

Northumberland County Council, as part of the North East of England delegation, is set to make a significant announcement at this year’s UK Real Estate Investment & Infrastructure Forum (UKREiiF), signalling the next phase of the county’s ambitious growth and investment plans.

Taking place in Leeds, UKREiiF 2026 will provide the backdrop for Northumberland to showcase its bold vision for economic development including new commercial offer to the market, underpinned by its newly launched Economic Strategy.

The strategy sets out a clear roadmap to drive sustainable growth, attract inward investment, and unlock opportunities across key sectors, positioning Northumberland as a prime destination for business and innovation.

As England’s largest County, Northumberland offers a unique combination of strategic location, high-quality natural environment, and strong connectivity to major markets in the North East, Scotland, and beyond. With a diverse economy spanning advanced manufacturing, energy, tourism, and emerging green industries, the county continues to build momentum as a hub for investment and enterprise.

At UKREiiF, attention will turn to a portfolio of key development sites that highlight Northumberland’s ambition and readiness for growth including Ashwood Business Park – A strategic employment site offering high-quality space for business expansion and inward investment, West Hartford Business Park – Recently granted planning permission, this flagship site will deliver over 1,000,000 sq. ft of commercial opportunities, supporting jobs and economic growth in the heart of the county alongside Port of Blyth Opportunity Sites – Including Battleship Wharf and the Investment Zone site at Bates Clean Energy Terminal with both sites offering major quay-linked opportunity to capitalise on Northumberland’s strengths in offshore energy, logistics, and advanced manufacturing.

Together, these sites form part of a compelling investment proposition aligned with regional and national priorities, including clean energy transition, innovation, electrification and digital & AI.

Councillor Richard Wearmouth, Cabinet Member for Regeneration at Northumberland County Council, said: “We are building on significant investment successes, and UKREiiF provides the perfect platform to showcase the scale of our ambition. Our new Economic Strategy sets a clear direction for the future, and the strength of our investment sites demonstrates that
