The Northumberland Economic Infrastructure Programme is an £3 million investment programme that focuses on removing the physical barriers to growth supporting businesses to:
• Unlock employment land and development sites
• Deliver new or improved commercial industrial premises
• Provide infrastructure needed to enable growth
• Accelerate projects that would otherwise stall or be unviable
Supporting business locations across Northumberland.
This programme plays a key role in:
• Creating modern industrial and commercial space needed to support businesses to grow in the County
• Supporting inward investment into the County
• Improving access to jobs and opportunities
• Enabling sustainable, high-quality developments
All projects are carefully assessed to ensure they are deliverable, provide value for money, and contribute to long-term economic growth.
Accessing support
Funding opportunities will be made available through targeted calls, launching from 2026 onwards.
Projects must demonstrate:
• Clear economic benefits
• A strong business case
• Deliverability within a defined timeframe
