Northumberland’s Businesses Thrive with Expert Support
A growing number of businesses across Northumberland are benefitting from a business support programme that is helping them build resilience, unlock growth, and access expert-led support.
The Northumberland Small Business Service offers a range of support for micro-small sized businesses across Northumberland including 12 hours of 1-2-1 technical specialist support.
The Northumberland Small Business Service (NSBS) is delivered by Northumberland County Council. The project is part funded by the North East Combined Authority and the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund and the Rural England Prosperity Fund, with the North East Combined Authority as the lead authority.
NSBS are highlighting the benefit the Growth and Resilience encouraging eligible businesses to apply and take advantage of the invaluable support on offer. The 1-2-1 support from technical specialists and a series of themed workshops, both of which are making a real impact to businesses across a range of industries.
Businesses on the programme receive direct access to experienced advisers who work closely with them to develop practical, tailored solutions. Whether refining a growth plan, adopting new technology, or strengthening business continuity, this specialist advice is proving invaluable to businesses at every stage of development.
Alongside this, the programme delivers a calendar of interactive workshops covering essential business topics, including AI, social media, and business confidence.
The support goes beyond advice. Businesses also gain access to technical expertise to help identify areas for development, explore innovation, and improve resilience. From introducing new-to-firm technologies to launching new products and services, the programme helps businesses take tangible steps toward growth.
Lucy Evermore NSBS Programme Manager said “We’ve seen remarkable progress among businesses who have embraced the support. The combination of expert one-to-one advice and practical workshop learning is helping Northumberland businesses turn challenges into opportunities.”
Dozens of rural businesses across Northumberland are already reaping the benefits of a specialist support programme designed to boost business growth and build long-term resilience and more are now being encouraged to take part.
NSBS is due to end in March next year, so businesses are encouraged to get in touch with the team to see how they can support with their needs including grant support.
NSBS also offers assistance to pre start and new start businesses across Northumberland. As well as working in partnership with the Northumberland National Park Authority to deliver specialised support to farming businesses.
